I’m a little bit late with this one, my oldest sister and her three kids were at my parents house this weekend and also one of my best friends. Safe to say I didn’t have much time to get this written and I’ve been busy helping my mum out for most of today.

Anyway, there isn’t much to report since my last post so I thought I’d write a little about what I’ve been reading and planning to read. Since being home I’ve had much more time to sit and read than I would normally. I haven’t been reading that much recently and It’s been so nice to get back to it. First of all I just made time to read the issues of Vogue that have been sitting in my room for the last couple of months. I feel like Vogue is one of those magazines you really need to sit down and make time to read, it’s also more enjoyable when you do. The last couple of issues have also been on sale at a reduced price of £2 which is always a bonus! I love looking through all of the images of designer pieces and how they’re styled. I can only dream about ever owning any but it’s nice to appreciate them all the same.

Last week I read Little Black Book by Otegha Uwagba. It’s a small A5 sized book aimed at working women and is full of useful tips and advice. I read it in an afternoon so it’s a quick read but one that I would recommend highly and have already suggested to a couple of my friends. Each chapter covers a different topic so it’s really easy to revisit something specific at a later date. There are also a couple of pages right at the end offering recommendations for places to work, websites that might be useful and a Q&A with several women who have been successful in their chosen field. I think this is a pretty essential read for all women whether you work for a company, are freelance or are thinking about creating your own business.

Next up are a couple of books by Sarah Knight. She’s best known for The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k but she also has two other titles Get Your Sh*t Together and You Do You. I read The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k a couple of years ago when I was off work with shingles and absolutely loved it so was excited when she brought out Get Your Sh*t Together. I finally bought it last year and got reading and enjoyed it as much as the first. Both of these books are a must-read for anyone who feels overwhelmed, unhappy in what they’re doing or just has a problem saying no to people. I felt enlightened when I read both of these and it really changed my perspective on how I make decisions and look at things. In fact I think reading both of these books helped in pushing me to make the decision to follow my dream and move to Paris! I’m going to start You Do You this week and I’m sure it will be as good as the others. EVERYONE should read these.

Finally I’ve been dipping in and out of Love, Style, Life by Garance Doré. I was actually gifted this book by my old manager and had been longing to read it for a while. It’s all about fashion and advice on how to dress and mix pieces. I haven’t finished it yet but it’s a fun read!

Next on my list to buy are:

How to Be Parisian: Wherever You Are by Anne Berest, Caroline De Maigret, Audrey Diwan and Sophie Mas

How To Be An Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis

The F Word by Lily Pebbles

Becoming: Sex, Second Chances, and Figuring Out Who the Hell I Am by Laura Jane Williams

and finally

Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton
